If there had been a 9.5 option for a club rating I would have chosen that, but a 9 is just too low for this absolutely classic SC and so one must round up and award the highest score possible. It's not perfect--"divey," no alcohol, the rather obnoxious stop/start of the jukebox supplying loud jock rock, artlessly hacked to shorten the songs. Parking sucks. And I don't even want to mention the restroom, as it would force me to think about it. I strongly prefer to avoid doing this.

But there are few places one will encounter in his life which could evoke a stronger feeling of, "&*$# yeah, this place kicks ass!" Amsterdam might be one. A big college football game, if that's your thing. The Mons is instantly recognizable as a distinctly alternate reality as soon as the eyes adjust to the reduced light of the place. The women are young and blazingly hot, and many not just hot but actually beautiful. They are unabashedly interactive--no buiding "chair forts" to obstruct the view or keeping an eye out for the bouncer. Full contact is the rule of law. The ceilings are low and the crowds can be like a rush hour Manhattan subway, so claustrophobes will have to wrestle with some demons to patronize this strip club Narnia. But what better incentive could there be?
