Visited for the first time on Canada Day, on a Thursday this year. It looked like a fancy banquet hall on the outside and in many ways the inside as well. The room was basically a large rectangular hall with a high ceiling. There was a large well- appointed bar with fancy wood and glass/plexiglas cabinets. There was no cover charge and no smoking. A half liter bottle of canberry juice was $4.50. The waitress was friendly and the bouncers in the background. The crowd was, well, not a crowd with perhaps 30 patrons. There was plenty of room to sit near the stage. What's not to like?
Well, the stage for one. It was a large rectagle with additions on the front corners to stick out into the room and accomodate a pole at each front corner. Sitting in the middle -front required a lot of head turning to follow the dancers. Swivel chairs would have helped. The ceiling above the stage was blue with white clouds and there were 5 Greek columns at the back of the stage. It looked as if a sixth had been removed to allow the DJ to see the stage; as it was the DJ was part of the show. The dancers entered the stage by a wide but short staircase right in the middle.
There were two dancers on the stage at a time, often exchanging sides on which to dance. The dancers were generally attractive even if a little bored. There was some interaction with patrons during onstage tipping. More on this in a moment.
The feature attraction was Daquri Ice who seemed to tend toward the humorous type of routine. At the end of the first show I saw she got out the body paint covered herself, and then "stamped" the back of some of her posters with breast and ass imprints. She seemed disappointed that no one wanted to get in on the body paint action. I did show my appreciation for the show with repeated applause, but was a little embarassed that DJ asked for more appreciation from patrons in addition to the guy in front. She gave me a very damp and messy poster. Daquri Ice eventually came and signed the poster with a thanks for being a gentleman. I apologized for not getting up on stage and gave her a nice tip.
Her last act of the night ended with hot wax poured on self and one braver patron. When she took off his belt and gave him a few wacks on a bare stomach, I decided not to get on the stage this time either. This was the second whipping for that patron within an hour. Maybe he or his girlfriend/wife asked for it.
