I stopped into Rick’s at Happy...

I stopped into Rick’s at Happy Hour on Wednesday. This seemed like a great alternative to sitting in rush hour traffic. Inside it has a nice looking bar on the right as you enter, with a main stage and two small stages, and a plush décor. Lap dances happen at tables along the back wall or in the VIP or Champagne Rooms (for more $). There was a girl dancing on the main stage and the music was a little too loud but not painful. It started out great – free cover and $2.75 beers – a waitress met me at the door and took me to my choice of tables, one row back from the stage.

There were about a dozen customers. One girl came by immediately and did the “want a dance?” then another girl sat in my lap, bringing her own drink! She talked about how she works out. Then she saw my wedding ring and talked about going home with customers – finding out they lied about being single because they had family pictures in the bedroom.

While she talked, I could still check out the stage dancers. After few dancers had dropped their tops, I recognized that they all wore latex. I asked the girl in my lap, who hadn’t showed me her nipples, and found out that ‘latex is a policy in the club’ – they all wear latex! That’s a real turnoff for me – even though it is clear and thin, I can’t get excited about a girl rubbing plastic on my face. So I turned down her dance offer, finished my beer, and left.
