Nice First-Time Visit to Tennyson, Will Repeat.
I was in Pittsburgh for work and was looking around for a club to visit. Other reviews have left me with mixed expectations. I definitely wasn't expecting a Dallas/Houston/ATL experience, so I decided to try a local dive.
I took out a bit of cash at a downtown ATM and headed South to the club. Tennyson is about a 20-25 minute drive from downtown, but there weren't any traffic issues there or back. If it hadn't been for GPS, there's no way I would've noticed this place at night. I didn't notice any signs outside, just some signage on the door, letting you know the basic rules.
The Club: As most have stated, this is a local's place. Don't come here if you're expecting bottle service, VIP areas or silicone. This place has local girls, some of which work at other clubs, but most of which stick to Tennyson. The staff is friendly, and everyone knows everyone else here.
$10 Cover - paid at the entrance. Dances are $20 ea., pre-paid to the bartender

Drinks: Well-priced, $6-$7 for bottle beer, $8-$10 for drinks & shots
Patrons: 8-10 at any given time (more showed up after 11pm)

Layout: From the outside, the place looks like it could be any kind of business, tavern, etc. Inside, the layout is generally a large rectangle. I'd say about 22' across and 50' from the entrance to the back. The first 30' or so is for the entrance, video slots, bar and entrance to the dance area. There's an upstairs bathroom accessible from the entrance (be sure to say hi to Charlie), but I didn't use it. The bar takes up most of the space, and there's a way to sit at the bar near the front, along the side of the bar, and a small seating space right before reaching the dance area.
The dance area takes up the rest of the space. There's a center stage with a pole, and has chairs all around. I'd say 10-12 people can sit directly in front of the stage, and probably 8 tables on either side of the stage . The stage itself is probably only a foot off the ground, but has a 2 foot wall all around to provide some separation from the dancers and we, the mongers. :) There are three booths (two on the left, on near the back wall on the right) for private dances.
My Visit: I knew this would be a more laid-back visit, so I didn't take a ton of money and was mentally prepared to leave after 2 hours if I wasn't feeling the vibe. The staff was completely friendly, and bartender was very cool to chat with. When I arrived (around 9pm), there was a girl dancing on stage, with only three people (one couple at the nearby table) watching. Grabbed a beer and started settling in.
The girls (I counted 8 overall) tended to sit and talk with each other or with the locals. There was ZERO hustle factor, which was refreshing, but at the same time a little boring since most of the girls would disappear into the dressing room once their stage time was up. There's a digital jukebox across from the bar, and the next girl on rotation will choose her songs before getting "tagged" onto the stage by the prior dancer. Most of the time the dancers were on the floor, they'd sit around and talk to the on-stage dancer while she was doing her set.
The stage dancing was pretty straightforward. Girls dance across the 10-12' stage area. Almost all dancers would swing around the pole, but only 3 were really good at putting on a show. Stage tipping was basically guys dropping singles on the stage - no real contact. Occasionally a girl would lean in and hug a tipper, motorboat a little or dance right in our faces - with the only contact being whatever the girl initiates. The girls are friendly, but you need to engage the conversation with them - otherwise, they'll chat with their regulars and rake up the $1 bills after their set without much more than a "thanks!" and a smile. Without the hustle factor and the local bar feel means there's no expectation (or competition) for your $. If you want to take girl to one of the dance booths, you go up to hear and ask, she'll call the bartender over and he'll take your money. Songs are all full-length and the girls were all good on waiting until the next song to start the dances. AND, the private dances are fully nude, so as you're waiting for the next song, the girls will strip off and give a little tease show. I had a total of 10 dances that night - four dances with a hot biracial girl (Princess) and 3 two-girl dances with a sexy pair (Alaska & Salem).
Alaska (w) Salem (w): Alaska is a petite redhead with A-cups, super responsive nipples and soft skin. Salem is a brickhouse - probably 5'9" - large C-cups / small D-cups and a big beautiful ass. I met Alaska at the bar after tipping her stage show. She was friendly and suggested that I have some dances with both her and Salem, her BFF. The dances were perfect for what I expected.
