Visited this new club for the first time on a Tuesday Night from 8:00 to around 10:30. In a word, different best captures the description. There is no cover charge. The interior features a long, open, town hall style room with a huge open slanted ceiling. There is one stage that must be about 25 feet long. It has two 10 by 10 square areas on either end joined in the middle by a narrower section about 4 feet wide. At the far end of the hall is the bar and one pool table. Above the bar is a loft set up to feature live bands. On this night there were 6 or 7 girls doing 3 song sets on the one stage with a DJ. This is one of Portland’s 2 non-smoking clubs.

The service was kind of mixed. I was not initially approached about a drink and after about 20 minutes went to the bar and ordered. The bartender brought it right out and I asked a few questions about the menu as this place is advertised as the only vegan club in town. She made some recommendations, but never came back. About 20 minutes later I had a dancer flag down the cook and he let me know they were almost completely out of food. So I agreed to the only thing available, a veggie burger. Now I’m wondering why the bartender didn’t tell me this. The burger was delivered really quick and it was excellent, but with no napkin or fork, so I had to ask. On the other hand, the owner, Johnny Diablo introduced himself and spent about 20 minutes or so with me, going into detail about the features of the club. It was clear he wanted me to have a good time and gave me the best seat for the 2 girl tango, which I’ll describe later.

There were 6 or 7 girls doing 3 song sets on the one stage and the contact at the tip rail was consistently the closest I’ve seen anywhere in Portland. The girls were mostly alternative looking with tattoos and on average heavier than at most clubs. I would rate them in the 6 to 7 range on looks. As far as personality, however, they were very friendly and worked to make sure patrons were having a good time. Given the contact at the rail, I would venture to say that in the private dance area some of these girls would probably make you come. I mean, back for more dances, of course.

The highlight, however, was the 2 girl tango. Now I’ve seen lots of 2 girl dances, which is what I expected, but this was not a 2 girl dance. It was a live on stage lesbian sex show, featuring the girls stripping each other and then pleasuring one another on a soft blanket. Further detail I’ll leave to your imagination, but it was VERY HOT. It is well worth whatever else might not be so great about the club. The 2 girl tango is not every night so check for days and times.

I think if Johnny can get his wait staff and food operation running a little smoother, hire several top notch lookers, and keep up the 2 girl show, he’ll have a very lucrative club.
