A decent place on a Saturday...
A decent place on a Saturday night (7/10), and it could be an 8 or 9 with just a few changes.
The Good: The current layout is better than the recent past (although the earlier setup several remodels ago with the bar on the left as you entered and the two stages along the wall was better from a customer perspective). Good sightlines throughout the club to be able to check out the fun on other stages as well as your own. The servers have been upgraded (looks and skills), and although the drinks are a little pricey, you can get a nice buzz going without breaking the bank. Best of all, it seems like the club is starting to attract the kind of slender, hot young dancers that made this place so great a few years ago.
The Bad: The DJ. The DJ. The DJ. This guy might be the biggest meathead in the entire Western Hemisphere. Imagine a blowhard who quite a while back might have played high school football (maybe even small college) and has now gotten a gig as a strip club DJ. The problem is, he seems to think that each song needs to be interrupted every 30 seconds or so to open up the mike and yell at top volume at the audience (and he is yelling AT the audience). Apparently he thinks that this is somehow going to encourage us to have fun (unfortunately, it's not like yelling at someone to get one last repetition out on the bench press). The yelling continues between every song and as the dancers rotate among the stages. If I had a dollar for every time he bellowed "C'MON, LET'S HEAR SOME F--KIN' NOISE OUT THERE!!!!" or the equivalent, I'd be about 80% of the way toward funding my retirement. An informal survey indicated that many of the dancers, waitresses and even a bouncer agreed that the DJ was a pain in the ass. Apparently only the club manager thinks this guy's good. Put it this way--if this DJ had been the subject of the Robin Williams movie "Good Morning Vietnam," the story line would have been about how the various branches of the armed services competed for the honor of fragging him in the final scene. Replace him already.
