The Playhouse is definitely not the high-mileage place the old reviews describe, but I had a great time.

You walk in to a long rectangular room with a smaller rectangular bar inside. Patrons sit around the big bar, and the dancers do their work on a stage inside the bar. Two dancers are on stage at a time; at the end of a song, one of the dancers leaves the stage and begins the tip crawl and another dancer enters the stage. I saw probably 20 dancers or so, but I showed up around 6PM at a shift change, so shifts may be smaller than that. Lots of dancers who have been around the block, but some young and fun dancers as well.

My favorite dancer that night - I think her name was Elle - dispensed with the tip crawl altogether, and I much preferred that. As soon as I sat down at the bar - literally as I took the first sip of my drink - she walked up and asked if I wanted a dance. I was a bit caught off guard, and though she wasn't stripper hot she had an adorable smile and glasses that made her look like the cute girl that sat next to you in English class in high school. I didn't partake right away, but she had moxie and convinced me to go back for two highly enjoyable dances. (She told me as we entered the room that she wasn't going to do anything too wild - my dances were not wild but were well worth it - and she said that a girl had just gotten fired that day for shenanigans.)
