I visited the new Savannah's this...

I visited the new Savannah's this past Monday afternoon, between 6 and 7pm. This place used to be a pretty seedy looking dive on the inside, but it is obvious the new owners/management are looking to change that. There was alot of construction going on, and a big black plastic sheet was covering the work area. Not that I mind that at all - this place is playing catch up with the other two big clubs in town, and renovations are just part of the deal.

When this place first got going about 5-7 years ago, it rocked. Dancers came up from Augusta to work here instead of in those holes in the wall on Broad Street. However, it appeared that "the life" got the best of most of the old crew, and Chastity's went south in a hurry. Needless to say, I wanted very badly to see that things were picking up, but its just not there yet. Granted, it used to be a late night place, and maybe it will be again. But Monday for late Happy Hour it was pitiful. The 2 dancers working were easily outdone by the bartenders, who were nothing special. I stayed for 1 hour, and not another dancer showed up. I know of 3 guys who walked in, looked around, and left for another club (as I recognized them when I got there).

For those of us with the Strip Club Jones, as I call it, let's hope Savannah's can overcome the growing pains and compete with the chain clubs. It was great once, and I believe it can be again, but for now save your money until the turn-around gains some traction. I will hit it again soon late-night and report further then.
