Based on my experience at Hot Bodies w/ some of the same dancers last week I decided to give Joy's another shot on a Sunday night (8:30-midnight) when the dances are only $10. I wasn't disappointed - although there were a few women there who were a bit heavy for me most were quite cute and I caught up with my favorite so far - Britan. Young, tall, blonde, and very athletic she lacks some subtlty but more than makes up for it with enthusasim and skill. On something of an odd note the place has a family touch for her - her younger brother was DJing and her younger sister was also dancing. Spent some quality time with Britan (most of the night) and was happier for it. Also spent a little time with an out of towner named K from Dallas that nearly the inverse - all about the subtlty but not quite as much bump and grind. Good diversity of dancers. Significant two way contact seemed pretty common.

The club has gotten decidedly more layed back - dancers could pretty much do nearly anything they wanted without management hassle - something I appreciated. There was a token police officer to check ID at the door and after 11 or so he occasionally made the rounds to some but not all of the club to check for anything obvious. Drinks are crazy priced ($6.50 for a bottle of beer) but I think that goes with the territory along with the occasional persistant heavy women asking me for dances. Also some of the furniture is completely shot to hell but again thats par for the course.

All in all I would say Joys has gotten better - there is some amazing talent mixed in with the average and the occasional less than average and the price has gotten much better. Check their webpage and you will see $10/dance or even $5/dance specials on nearly every day (I think Thursday they have Stripper Idol and its normal price). I would advise early evening to get the night shift talent like I did. Britan on Sunday is a good call although she has some regulars already.
