I was in Nashville for a bachelor party, so we decided we should at least hit one strip club during the trip. We knew about the terrible law limiting strip clubs in the area, but what's a bachelor party without seeing some women? 8 of us jumped in a cab on Saturday evening and told the driver to take us to Christie's. As we pulled up to a building, however, I realized he'd taken us to Anthony's, a place I'd been to 3 years earlier. Whenh we asked why he brought us to the wrong place, his English amazingly got really bad, and he headed inside with us to collect his $$$ for bringing another group of idiots to the place.
We were charged a $10 cover each, which we were told was half price because we had some military guys in our group. Nothing much has changed at Anthony's in the last three years, though things definitely haven't improved. They now have large tables ringing the main stage to comply with the distance portion of the law, so you're forced to throw crumpled bills to the dancers over the barrier. A big difference I noticed that night was a complete lack of the "buy the lady a drink?" hustle, though there were so few dancers that only occasionally would one come out and hang out with the patrons.
The crowd was mostly black or white guys pretending to be black, though most of the dancers were black ladies, so it was no surprise. Overall, the patrons were generally subdued and occasionally approached the stage to tip their favorite ladies.
