Of course, the Blockist is a daytime guy, but I really like the Jewel Box. Night time may be somewhat different, but the day shift is about as good as it gets on the Block. While the prices are about par with the current trend ($6-7 for a drink, $21-25 for a dancer's drink), the atmosphere is real and friendly, the girls are mostly attractive, and the drug problem doesn't seem any worse than most of the other places. Compared with adjoining bars, no contest.
