The Penns Port is housed in...
The Penns Port is housed in a rather old and unassuming neighborhood-type corner bar; one could probably describe it as being somewhat of a "dive", however, do not be fooled by outward appearances. There is one large U-shaped bar (perhaps 30 stools), several booths against the wall and a small room in the back in which to play pool. Unfortunately, smoking is allowed in this club (cigarette and cigar). The main stage is situated in the middle of the bar (at bar level) and is approx. 4 x 4 feet with a single brass pole. The stools right next to the stage provide the best views in the place.
The PP serves a basic menu of burgers, chili and sandwiches. The food is always excellent and I highly recommend either the chili or the signature Penn's Port burger. The kitchen closes about 1.5 hours before the bar closes, so be sure to get your food orders in early.
The dancers at PP are, in my opinion, some of the highest quality dancers in Philadelphia. Not only are the vast majority consistently beautiful but most have wonderful friendly attitudes and seem to truly enjoy the company of the customers. There are three girls per set (one dancer at a time) and there is no competition among dancers for customer's attention, tips, etc., which makes for a very pleasant atmosphere which always translates into a very good time. The PP is strictly a go-go bar and does not offer lap dances, however, most of the girls work at other clubs throughout the area and are happy to provide a date and time where you could have private dances at the other clubs. Since there are no lap dances the girls do not feel the need to constantly "hustle" the customers, and consequently a good time is had by all. I wish more strip clubs would adopt this model; as a customer you are free to relax and watch the show and are not constantly bothered by girls wanting to give lap dances.
