Visited on a recent Weds afternoon...
Visited on a recent Weds afternoon about 4 pm. My girl, who used to be on the 9pm shift, has switched to days. Decent size crowd, probably 20-30 customers and dancers in the room around the main stage. The portions that are normally open at night, like the back bar on the left side and the two small stages were roped off so made it feel busy but not crowded. $30 cover still for us out of towners, even though I drove myself.
Caught up with my girl and ordered drinks. Took awhile for them to arrive, there seemed to be some dispute between two waitresses on who's order it belonged to. We'd ordered from a "floater" who was on the line at the one open bar for drinks but a 2nd girl delivered them. After awhile we got up to tip a girl at the stage, were gone for less than a minute, and our drinks were gone! Probably half full and I'd tipped $3.50 on a $17.50 tab for 2 drinks. Guess the waitress thought I was cheap. What bugs me is this is not the first time this has happened here, if I was a local I would have made an issue of it but didn't want to spoil the moment.
Turns out the 3 for $100, 1/2 hr, and 1 hr dance deals are all done in the "1/2 hr room". It was nearly at capacity. No way would I pay for a 1 hr dance here, after experiencing the spaciousness of that room in the past. Another unfriendly waitress took our drink orders - notice a pattern? Enjoyed the 1/2 hour, good (not great) contact by both parties, but when the room manager gave the 5 minute warning my girl shut her down. $200 to the girl for the 1/2 hr, $24 for 2 drinks (I tipped $6 for a total of $30), and $20 to the room manager (it seems like SOP at the Rhino).
