On a whim while a friend...

On a whim while a friend an I were in the LAX area, we decided to check out the Jet Strip. When I envision L.A. clubs, I see them a lot more grandeur than that of the Orange County or Valley clubs that I normally frequent. Typically, I see L.A. clubs like that of 4Play. You know -- fancy decor, candlelit cocktail tables, and a couple of stories high. Bare Elegance also has that same look about it. So when we entered the Jet Strip, it was nothing like that. It was more a like a "room" with a stage. I do have to say that because it is less formal than that of 4Play and Bare Elegance, the dancers were sure a hello of lot friendlier than what I would expect. I met one that basically talked my ear off. Not the kind of girl who talks so much that you you start singing songs in your head. This one was cute and VERY interesting. I felt bad because I basically ignored my buddy all night as I was digging this chick. Eventually, I took her for a spin on the couch and found her equally as interesting when she didn't talk. Great girl all around. Too bad I am completely blanking on her name but it will be really easy for me to spot her the next time that I come back for a visit. I won't forget that face for sure.

When I came out, I located my buddy and found him talking to a rather large black man. A little confused, I went to have a seat next to him and realized that he was talking to Rosey Grier, ex-lineman for the old school Los Angeles Rams. He was part of that line called the "Fearsome Foursome" with Merlin Olsen. That was pretty cool. Super-friendly guy and I bought him a drink for being so cool. Of course, none of the girls recognized the man but many played dumb like they did. That was my celebrity sighting for the evening.

So good place to hang out. Nothing like I expected but I was genuinely surprised. The clubs in L.A. have been hit and miss for me lately so I am glad this visit turned out pretty well.
