I hit the Cecil on Friday...

I hit the Cecil on Friday night after work with a few buddies. We got there around 7, cover was $3 at that time, and we had no trouble finding seats. There were seats available at the stage but the pressure to tip here is over the top for a Vancouver club (keeping in mind that the dancers are paid by the clubs here, not the other way around) so we grabbed a table a bit back from the stage. The crowd was pretty quiet when we got there, but it picked up as the evening went along.

There were five stage dancers on the night shift, two of them headliners but only one worthy of the title -- Gizelle Hennessey puts on a hell of a stage show but Grace Kelley just walked around the stage for her first two songs, then crawled around the stage for her last two. The other three were in the 7-8 range for looks and performance. There were two VIP dancers, charitably 6s, and two of my buddies bought the third a private dance. He seemed neither impressed nor disappointed when he came back, but he's gay so that doesn't really count for much.
