Teddy Bear's is open 12-2 AM Monday and Wednesday-Saturday. It is dark Sunday and Tuesday. There is a full service bar.
After reading in a previous review that Kory, from L&L, was working here on day shift, I had to check it out (again; my one previous visit had been totally dull). Lo and behold, not only Kory, but the buxomous Sandy was also dancing, and Lyric as well -- all "fugitives" from L&L. The place is like a big dance hall with a bar at one end and a stage/runway jutting from a corner at the other. There are two, over-priced for Gastonia, VIP booths, one on each side of the room. There were about half a dozen dancers and only a few customers. The five dollar laps are as good as at L&L and the dancers all professional and easy to talk to. I'd give Teddy Bear's an 8 for day shift, but a 3 for night... read on.
I returned on Saturday, early on night shift, just to check it out. A big, BIG mistake. Not many dancers; not very attractive; not personable at all. After getting blase five dollar laps from several, I was approached by a pretty, slender young brunette who exhibited, as our session wore on, the most blatant hustle I have ever seen. Every move she made, or didn't, was accompanied by "How much you gonna tip me?" I finally told her I'd had enough of that BS, paid her and got up to leave. Most of the dancers I know realize this is a fantasy exercise and perform as if they had some interest other than just money. Since fantasy is what most of us are paying for, not being able to play along seems worse than stupid to me. This can be a fun place in the daytime. Steer clear at night unless you get off on blatant hustle. In that case this is the right place for you.
