Went to Beach Girls last week...

Went to Beach Girls last week on a Tuesday night (10/30). I don't know if it was especially slow that night because all the kids in Des Moines trick or treat on the night before Halloween, so maybe that keeps people at home. Anyway, there was an interesting mix of mostly young girls, all rangin from 4 to 9. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Star, an absolutely lovely and talented young woman. She is an excellent conversationalist with a very fascinating background, but she also knows how to work the stage. Her friends talked her into trying out at Amateur Night there a couple months ago, and not surprisingly, she walked away with the top prize. She also found herself a new income stream at the Beach.

Overall, very low pressure and friendly atmosphere in a reasonably nice setting with BYOB. Not the easiest place to find, but its worth the trip if you are anywhere in the vincinity of WDM.
