OK, true story... not too long...
OK, true story... not too long ago a group or my friends and I went to West Hollywood one Friday night to get out of Orange County and experience L.A. for a change. Although we are familiar with the clubs that we normally go to in the OC and the San Gabriel Valley, we wanted to check out The Body Shop for once as it has been a staple in West Hollywood for the longest time. Hell, even Motley Crue included it in the the Lyrics of "Girls, Girls, Girls".
The four of us found a seat along the main stage and found the girls who approached us incredibly friendly and the staff was very accomodating. It wasn't too crowded just yet and we all were flirting with the various dancers on stage and we all were having a good time. My friend to the left of me had to sit next to some random dude as that was the only seat available after we all had sat down. Throughout the various stage shows, I could see that this guy kept leaning over to my friend and making comments that my friend wanted nothing to do with. I could see him getting annoyed. Finally, I saw my friend tell him to "shut the fuck up!" and this guy looked startled. We didn't leave the area and continued to watch the show. A few minutes later, my friend grabs me by the arm and signals that he needs help. I casually look over to him and see that this crazy mofo had some kind of sharp weapon pressed up along my friend's side. Instinctively, I make mention of this to my other two friends seated to my right. We are by no means small guys so we make a move as if we are all going to get drinks and without hesitation, we gang-tackle this psycho and wrestle him down to the ground. Of course, the club's security was on top of us immediately not knowing what was going on. But when we showed him that this guy was holding a switchblade, they jumped on him and pinned his ass to the ground.
Less than three minutes later, L.A. County Sherrif's deputies were on the scene hauling this guy away and taking statements from all of us. Thankfully, we did not have to go to the station to file a report. 20 minutes later, management gladly welcomed us back in and bought us our drinks. I laughed with my friend who came pretty close to getting shanked and we enjoyed the rest of the night with some amazing women in tow.
