One of the local alternative newspapers wrote a few years ago that if Mr. Rogers wanted to visit a strip club, JCR is the one he would choose. I have been there about 8-10 times in the last 2 tears at different hours of the afternoon and evening, and want to give it a full review.
The club is tiny; after entering thru a curtained doorway, you find the dressing room and the stage on your immediate right. The bar is on the left, and the men's room is in the far left corner beyond the bar. A beer is $5, and if you sit facing the bar, the stage is behind you. The stage is lined with a rail and a counter, and there is one pole. Mirrored walls line the back of the stage, and there is a mirrored ceiling. Lighting is adequate.
There are usually 4 to 6 dancers, rating generally from 3 to 7. Ths dancers are friendly and thank each tipper individually (I have sween few exceptions to this rule), going around the room to each one that is not next to the stage. They do not solicit for individual or private dances. but most of them do sit or stand at the bar between dances and talk to the men here. There is no pressure to buy drinks for the dsancsrs (I have never been asked to buy a drink).
This is not the place for someone whpo is in town for a day or two. It is a relaxed-atmosphere place: the opposite of, say, Hawaii in the City of Industry, in both cost and "sleaze." The clientele seem to like it on its own terms. So do I.
