This is a good place to spend a lot of money. Happily, you can get what you pay for, but remember that good doesn't come cheap.

Flashdancers is located at the northern reaches of mid-town New York. It is near a bunch of hotels on 6th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Tin Pan Alley and the Ed Sullivan Theater, where David Letterman shoots his show. The location means that Flash gets lots of foot traffic, and this allows them to set pretty stiff prices.

It costs $20 to get in after 8, $10 from 5-8 and it's free before, but some days you can get there at 4:45 and they'll still charge you $10. Drinks run from $9 for soft drinks and beer to the high teens for mixed drinks. Dances are $20, the champagne room is about $440 (but a little cheaper during the day) and the girls expect a tip on top of that ($50 is acceptable, $100 fine, more might get you something you wouldn't get for less).
