Gold Club can be fun, but...
Gold Club can be fun, but generally it's not. Too little space, not well used despite frequent renovations. Too smoky. Odd rules, which periodically change. Average to above average dancers. Last week I was gone in less than a half hour. Drank one beer and said no to a couple of dancers. Time before that I managed almost an hour, but it's really not worth it most days. I haven't figured out the dynamics of this place. In the back of the club sit the folks who are probably regulars, and dancers sit with them between songs. The rest circulate and rarely even ask for dances. I don't want to talk for an hour before I agree to a dance, but I need something before I say yes. Very attractive dancer may be enough, particularly if I've seen her on stage. Two minutes of talk if she can seem interesting or at least pretend she enjoys what she's doing. Generally can find that at Delilahs or Club Risque, but very rarely at Gold Club.
