Friday night was very slow. It was my first time here this year and only my second visit to Omar's since last summer. I used to go every week, but the club has been pretty much ruined by policies driven by short-term greed. The $10 table dances that used to be the main attraction here are a thing of the past. They're no-touch now, and even when you keep your hands to your side, a bouncer hangs around glowering to make sure you don't enjoy it. They should just discontinue them. The stage diving is still worth a buck, but not nearly as wild as it used to be, and the DJs just keep getting louder and more obnoxious.

Everything now is geared towards getting you to go upstairs for the $25 dances (which never were any better than the old table dances). No more relaxing at your table with a girl, having drinks, giving backrubs, getting dances through the night. They're all pressured to get you upstairs ASAP. It's as though Omar's thinks they can snap their fingers and be the Flight Club in a blue collar town with a crappy economy surrounded by farm country. Well, I'm not buying it, and by the looks of the dancers on hand (okay, but not up to the former standard), the kind of hot girls needed aren't exactly signed on to the idea.
