Dreamgirls is probably one of the better alcohol serving topless bars in a city that really doesn't have any good strip clubs. A few years ago when the self-righteous San Diego City Council made all dancers cover their legs with nylons, Dreamgirls was the only bar to let the dancers show bare skin at least when performing on stage. They've also been innovative in offering private dances before other clubs and in general they seem to get some of the better-looking dancers in town. It's never very busy, even on Friday nights. This is probably due to the out of the way inconspicuous location.

The club is now owned by the Déjà Vu chain but thankfully, at least so far, they have not changed much. There's really only one stage at the front of the room. There's a small platform stage near the bar but I think it's rarely used. You can get coupons from the web or local magazines to wave the cover so long as you get there before 9:00 pm. The cover charge is $10 or you can buy a VIP card for $25 which is good for 3 months and can be used at all other Deja Vu owned clubs.

They observe the irritating San Diego practice of asking for tips from everyone in the room even if you are clearly seated somewhere you could not possibly have seen the show. Lap dances are typical (pretty lame) for San Diego and cost $15 but most the girls will hint they would like $20.
