I've been to Christie's several times...

I've been to Christie's several times over the past year or two and my experience is pretty consistent. I feel that I should mention that I've always gone on a weekend night so I can't speak for what it's like at other times. A few things stand out about this club, good and bad.

First, the good stuff: Every time I've been here, it has been extremely busy. While popularity isn't necessarily indicative of a good club, in this case, Christie's quality is what gets people in the door and keeps them coming back. There has never been a shortage of girls and in fact, the girls are always pushing the dances pretty hard. This can be either welcome or unwelcome depending on whether you're eager for a dance or just want to sit back and drink for a little while. It also leads to a high amount of hustle, with a lot of the girls only showing sincere interest in a man's wallet with little regard for who's holding it. Now I realize that the argument could be made that this is the fundamental idea of all strip clubs but a little casual conversation and some light flirting goes a long way. And while there are plenty of good-looking girls who walk away before you can even say "not right now," with a little patience and some self-restraint, it's only a matter of time before you're approached by a girl (or girls) who seem like they want to have a good time as much as make money. Which, truth be told, is the best thing about this club. Girls attitudes can make or break a club experience. Fortunately, enough of these girls are laid back enough for a good time. Also of utmost importance is that I have never had a bad dance here. As always, YMMV but if my experience has indicated anything, it's that dances tend to be pretty liberal with the contact. And it doesn't hurt that two thirds of these girls are extremely attractive with bodies to match. Also, there's enough girls to suit just about anyone's taste, from big-boobed bleach blonds to tatooed and pierced goth girls to exotic asians and african americans. Christie's has a nice, upscale atmosphere and has a number of options for how to enjoy it. They offer the requisite VIP area which affords a nice view of the club as well as, if I understand it right, seperate areas where you can play video games. They also offer jacuzzi dances which last for a half hour and I imagine are pretty much how they sound.

Unfortunately, while I like this club, it's not perfect. As I mentioned before, it's always extremely busy which can be obnoxious as it makes it difficult to find a seat and you're always bumping into someone when you turn around. Also, the hustle factor here is pretty extreme. I remember on one of my trips here, I got asked if I wanted a dance five times in three minutes... twice by the same girl. For those of you who math is not your strong suit, that's about once every thirty seconds. Like I said, if you want a dance, this is perfect because you barely need to make eye contact with a girl before she's pushing herself on you. On the other hand, if you're waiting for a dance, for one reason or another, it's easy to get pretty exhausted turning girls down left and right. Now, part of the reason you may have to turn down a number of girls is because, for an Ohio club, Christie's is pretty expensive. Bear in mind that I'm used to the $5 dances and $2.50 drinks in the clubs in my hometown of Akron but I think many people would agree with me that $4,50 is a lot to pay for a beer. Last time I was at Christie's, I got 3 beers and 2 shots and it was $33.50! After admission fee and tip, I was down almost $50 in 5 minutes with little to show for it. The dances are a little more reasonable at $20 a pop but even they can put a strain on your wallet if you're not careful.

All in all, while Christie's is a little expensive to be a once a day (or even once a week) club) I consider it a nice "special occasion" club. The only problem is, after you've been there once, you may find yourself looking for any excuse for a special occasion. Arbor day, anyone?
