Due to various circumstances I found myself in Tampa late Monday afternoon with a short time to kill. I recalled reading here the "VU" offered no cover until 6:00pm. That was partly true. Prior to 6:00pm there is a drink cover of $5 for unlimited access to non alcoholic beverages. After my eyes adjusted I was able to determine there were 3 dancers and 3 patrons including me. Not too suprising for Florida in July on a Monday afternoon. However I went in knowingly with lowered expectations. After my club soda arrived, presented by a friendly waitress, I accomplished one objective. I heard "Jade" formerly of YS some 3-4 years ago, was dancing now at the "VU" and friendly waitress confirmed "Jade" did indeed dance there, but at night. She also said "Jade" had new enhancements. You guys will remember "Jade" from YS as a sexy latina on dayshift. She used to dance very slowly and seductively onstage and in the VIP.

Back to the "action" at the club. Desani is a black dancer who was reading a book when I came in and within 15 seconds of sitting down she was on my lap to see if I wanted some dances within 15 seconds of sitting down. I told her I was just looking this afternoon, no time, she took it graciously. Autumn was on stage, nice looking blonde/brunnette who despite only 3 customers worked onstage to entertain. There were a few lapses with no dancers. Then Mercedes came over, she is cute, young and fun to talk to. She didn't runaway when I told her I was just looking today. We chatted and when I asked she gave me the run down on the dance options.

The main lap room is full of high-backed red chairs, dances there are $25 each. On the main floor a few rows up are a couple of VIP dance rooms with privacy at $350 a half hour plus free drinks. She said this without flinching, although my eyes had rolled completely to the back of my head. Where the old bed dances used to be there are less expensive but private VIP rooms for $300 for a half hour and $150 for 15 minutes which was about 5 songs. Mercedes had to go onstage and she put on a nice set considering there were only two customers now. I tipped some extra for her being so nice. This club is still on my radar for future visits.
