friday night. nothing else going on, so i decided to check out flashdancers. cover is $10 before 8p and $20 afterwards (it was already past 8p, and that would've seemed a bit early). there's no mention of required drink purchase, but the moment i walked in, they pretty much assigned a waitress to me, so had to get the overly priced drink - $10 bud light for me. this is a large club. very large bar as you walk in, and a stage with multiple poles that has about 3 or 4 dancers at a time parallel to the bar. they have 2 dancers within the confines of the bar (it forms a circle), which i felt was a waste of their availability for dances. each performer is either on the stage or behind the bar for 3 songs. benches along the wall were the main areas for private dances. lots of tables encircling the place. there were private room(s) available called the blue room or champagne room or something like that. i also felt the place was a bit on the dark side...would've been nice if there was a little more lighting. that being said, the selection of performers was not too shabby. average of 7-8 imo. most were thin and natural. all ethnicities represented. very international variety also. i bought dances from girls from hungary, canada, and france. wasn't sure what to expect of the dances, but they weren't too bad. bouncers were all over, but none were actively monitoring dances. contact was decent, as most of the perfomers allowed my hands to roam (sort of). grinding was minimal to moderate. was offered the private room by one dancer, but the price tag ($500 for an hour i think) killed that thought in a hurry. there were massage girls available, and waitresses a plenty (fortunately they were nice about not trying to force me to buy more over-priced drinks). as with most clubs, a lot of the talent needs to learn the art of money making. way too many "wanna dance? no? bye." experiences here. if these girls took five minutes to make small talk and be nice, men are exponentially more willing to buy dances. oh well. anyhow, overall, a decent experience, though the cover and drink aren't so nice (but standard in nyc). i'll probably come again.
