I visited the Hartford Gold Club...

I visited the Hartford Gold Club on a recent Tuesday night. I had my choice of clubs (nude-no alcohol OR topless-alcohol) for a $5 cover charge. I started out on the topless side, which is also the larger of the two clubs. A rectagular bar is adorned with 8 flat panel TV's featuring various sporting events and ESPN. Beyond the bar is a round stage which is about 20ft in diameter. The stage is surrounded by a grouping of small cocktail tables and overstuffed captain chairs on casters. Unfortunately the chairs were not the only thing overstuffed at the Gold Club. This particular Tuesday two bartenders were on duty and my god they looked like the Goodyear blimp twins! Each wear black corsets that could bearly be tied around the bulges of flab. Yeeeech! Fortunately the dancers fared better. About 12 girls were working. They ranged from 5-8 on the stripper scale. Dances are $20 a song for a topless set--but bouncers were there to monitor and make sure there was no touching. I did a couple songs with a girl named Amber...not bad but as I mentioned, no touching. The club offers 2-for-1's every 1/2 hour or so. After about an hour I went to check out the nude side of the club. As slow as the topless side was, the nude side was extremely dead so I did not waste my time. Considering I visited the Gold Club on a Tuesday I would not rule out a second visit in hopes that a weekend evening would be better.
