After managing to get a bit of a buzz drinking relatively inexpensive "video poker cocktails" at Caesars I decided to head to the Vu for my last night in town, Tuesday, May 22 at around 10:30, since I don't like to drink too much the night before I fly home. I get in the cab, the doorman tells the cabbie where I'm going and before we're out of the parking lot the SOB is trying to redirect me to the Diamond Cabaret for a bigger kickback. He even tries to tell me that the Vu is a topless club, repeating the lie when I tell him it was nude six months ago. So he got a $0.30 tip and I advised the doorman at the Vu what happened, hoping they wouldn't pay him off. Just another reason to never get in a cab with the direction "Take me/us to the best strip club in town."

That behind me I paid the $25 cover that includes soft drinks (but not energy drinks), got some singles at the bar and settled in at the stage. The Vu is not a large club by Vegas standards so the thirty or so customers were enough to give the place a comfortable feel and make sure the fifteen or so dancers were circulating around the room. On the whole the dancers were petite and ranged from very cute to damn hot, with very little silicone (or pubic hair) to be seen and less ink or hardware than the last time I was here. Since there's no alcohol in the club they also skew a little younger than the topless clubs. Stage sets included a lot of pole work, which is something I really like about this place, and the waitresses in their little French maid outfits all got up on stage to clean the surface and the poles a couple of times, which is something else I really like about this place(although I will admit it feels a little bit wrong).

Speaking of which, I did encounter the Great Strip Club Paradox here; a hot girl walks through the club to the back in jeans and t-shirt, I think to myself that I must get a dance from her when she comes back out because she's just my type, and then she reappears carrying a drink tray. Which is not to say that I didn't find some actual dancers who fit my bill; I went to the back couches for sets from Vanity, Blaze and Logan, all of whom gave great dances with plenty of two-way contact - Blaze and Logan both quoted fairly reasonable tip structures, Vanity just asked for a tip afterwards and graciously accepted an extra $20. Vanity and Blaze both got repeat visits to the back, Logan would have if she hadn't left for the night shortly after our set, and I probably would have gotten dances from Mirage and Angelique to boot had money been no object.
