I arrived at the Rhino about 10:30 on Sunday night, May 20 and the place was freaking packed. Inadvertently scheduling my vacation to coincide with two very large conventions was obviously going to hamper my fun. Cover was the now-typical-for-Vegas $30 and highballs were the typical-for-Vegas $7.50. There were plenty of dancers working that night, ranging from 6-9, but there were too many Barbie dolls walking around for my taste. The size of the crowd and lack of available seating definitely made it a sellers’ market, with a lot of dancers walking out of one of the VIP rooms, tagging one of the obvious conventioneers and leading him right back into the VIP.
I settled into one of the few empty seats at the stage with a pocket full of singles, tipping the two or sometimes three dancers on stage at a time and looking for one to strike my fancy. After about 45 minutes sitting at stage side I locked eyes with Leona, a beauty redhead with long hair, pale skin and great curves, and followed her to the smaller stage where she was dancing her second set to ask if I could get some time with her. Unfortunately she had a customer waiting to take her for an hour in the VIP and, fool that I am, I decided to wait for her. One hour turned into two and still no sign of Leona, no response to a page to the DJ booth either so I guess the guy before my decided to monopolize her (can’t blame him, I might have done the same thing). At that point I moved around a bit looking for comparable talent, but I knew my night was over so I lit out of there shortly after that.
Not my best visit to the Rhino, partly my own fault for focusing my interest on one dancer before securing her company and I have boosted my rating to account for that, but if this was the best club in Vegas it has, in my opinion, become too popular as a result to hold that title anymore.
