The name change to Penthouse has...
The name change to Penthouse has not improved this club. On a recent midweek evening the club felt very slow; perhaps only a dozen dancers and a couple dozen customers. A large fraction of the dancers were heavily silicone endowed (not my preference); on average the dancers were between 5 and 7. Upstairs in the nude room, there have been large changes to the private dance area. Formerly, the high backed “cubbies” were in several parallel rows, all facing towards the rear of the room; now they have been rearranged in an oval, facing the center. This completely eliminates any privacy between the cubbies – if your dancer isn’t exciting, you can watch the private dances occurring behind your dancer, across the oval. This arrangement also allows a bouncer sitting in the cubby at the end to easily visually scan all of the dances going on at any given time – a very low energy, sitting patrol. Consequently, the private dances have shifted from the very high contact dances the Gold Club was known for, to just barely more than air dances. Together with a reduction in the number and quality of the dancers, the club has sunk several points and rates only average for Denver clubs, which weren’t very highly ranked to begin with.
