Gold Club “In Bloom”
So I returned to the Gold Room to check out its springtime “In Bloom” event. The club was hopping with a great variety of performers and a decently large crowd. The DJ played appropriately upbeat music — nothing too loud or annoying. The club is very clean and well-appointed with nice chairs and tables and small boxes for floor dances (which I’ve never seen one performed, but clearly is “possible”). The bathroom is nice and does have an attendant to hand you towels, etc.
Valet was $10 for the parking lot across the street, $20 to be parked close to the Club entrance. I was given a VIP gold card on my last visit, so my admission was free and I was whisked up to the VIP section by some friendly staff member who “wanted to make sure I had a great time.” The VIP area is slightly elevated and has a good view of the main stage (minimum of two girls always dancing on the main stage, which is large enough to permit some impressively acrobatic pole work) and a smaller VIP stage to which the hottest dancers were sent (but because of the small size of the stage they couldn’t do much more than slow motion circling around the pole or stationary booty shaking).
The waitstaff was attentive and drinks were reasonably priced ($10-15 for generous pours of bourbon or tequila). Girls circulated throughout VIP to sit with and keep you company and eventually ask you if you wanted to take them back to a Champagne Room. Champagne Room rates are pricey (starting at $500 for a half hour and going up to $1,500 for a hour in the largest and fanciest room). You do have the option of taking a waitress back to the Champagne Rooms if one strikes your fancy and she is willing and gets permission from management (same pricing, though). A less expensive option is to hit up the private dance area (basically a small leather walled-off banquette with a beaded curtain for privacy), for which I think I was quoted $500 for the hour on my previous visit. I’ve never been asked for a tip in the Champagne Rooms, and I’ve always been asked for a tip in the private dance area. The dances in both areas are topless only and full contact (no “air” dances). All of the girls that I’ve taken to a room have been engaged and given me what I would consider to be a “full effort” — none just “going through the motions” until your time runs out, which I’ve definitely experienced at other clubs.
