Solid Night at Rick's
I went back to Rick’s on a Thursday evening post the Knicks game. As I mentioned in my last review, for those who don’t know, promoters for the club hang out outside MSG post games with free entry passes so I managed to grab one and avoid the $15 cover. The inside has been described before, but its a big lounge area with a bar against the wall in the middle, and a lot of lounge seating lined up around the room with some small tables circling the stage. There’s a dim red light throughout the lounge. The place was clean/music was generally good.
I had two drinks (beers were $12 each) and took a seat by the stage. As is the case at Rick's in general, there were maybe 30-40 dancers working at the time, and a decent ratio with PLs (maybe 40-50ish). The dancers were all of different ethnicities and varieties, in general all very easy on the eyes. I got floor dances from two different dancers and a massage from the massage girl who was wandering around near the stage.
The dances were $20 and in general, I thought better mileage than other clubs around NYC. More importantly, I didn't feel like I was being hustled at any point -> dancers would ask if I wanted to do VIP or more dances, but they weren't pushy about trying to upsell me to a private room (or making fake promises that they won't deliver on in private). For those who care, private would have been $525 for a half hour and $800 for a full hour - I've never been here so can't comment on the experience.
