Going In the Wrong Direction

This place is legendary, but it’s only gotten worse since my last review! The post-renovation layout is the same: a two-level structure w/ a rectangular bar w/ barstools on the ground floor. You still have to pass through a metal detector, empty your pockets and take your hat off before they’ll let you in. There’s still a $10 cover and a ‘2 drink minimum’ – supposedly you can’t go the 2nd level where the stage is w/o a drink. The bathroom, patio for smoking and the door to the dancer dressing room downstairs is also on the ground floor.

The upper level has a decent-sized stage, 2 pool tables and the VIP area w/ the new annoying fenced off pathway. Having been there several times since the fire/renovation now, it’s striking how much smaller the place feels w/ the new walled off hallway against the back wall where the chairs used to be. What’s particularly annoying is that because there’s less room, the line to the VIP now stretches around the unused bar to the length of the stage. So, when the line gets long, you can’t find a seat at the stage & good luck getting in a pool game! And since they no longer collect the $10 room fee, the security doesn’t lift a finger to keep the line organized.

Worst of all, the talent has been steadily declining the last 6+ months in terms of quantity & quality! There are less dancers & they’re trending older, homelier & heavier on the plastic! I live far away from BP so I only come here 1-2 times per quarter. It’s now 2 straight visits that I saw nothing worthy of waiting in the line & the last few I did have were settles.
