First Review in 8 Years...Yikes

I arrived at Pin Ups on Sunday afternoon. You must empty your pockets before you walk through the metal detector. $5 entry for day shift before 7. Jumps to $20 after 7. Pin Ups is one of the bigger clubs in the metro. One main area to the left when you walk in. Within the main area you have a VIP area that’s dark. Its open seating with about 20 high-top chairs and tables. Not necessarily a private area but dark enough for some shenanigans on the floor. The DJ will collect $10 from you if you decide to sit there so keep that in mind. Immediately right in front of you when you enter is another medium-sized room which, for me, operates as a more intimate setting if seats are available, so I rarely sit in the $10 VIP area in the main room. Also has a bar in that room. $5 dances during the day (signs posted) and $10 dances at night.

Pin Ups dayshift is not what it used to be. Typically, between 8-10 dancers, all black, maybe one Latina mixed in. All body shapes and sizes. Because of how things have changed, I usually only go to see a particular dancer. This time was no different. Paid $6 for a Modelo and waited for her to show up. You can usually get a good grind from most dancers here, but I wasn’t in the mood to entertain. Once she showed up, I finished my beer and we took a seat over at the back end of the club. Good grind from her as usual. After about 8 songs, I got what I came for. Gave her a hefty tip and then headed for the door. In and out just how I like it.

A little more about Pin Ups. Nightshift works as an after-hour spot IMO. They don’t close unit 6am. I’ve been there both a few times before midnight as well as after and things don’t get started until after. I will say that the lineup at night is more mixed than daytime. You’ll find more Latinas here at night along with the A team of black dancers. On the weekends it can be upwards of 35 – 50 dancers. It is more of a party atmosphere but because of how big the club is, if you find the right dancer, PL fun can be had. Again, dancers are $10 at night but still a good deal. Songs are played quickly though so it is worth checking with the dancer on when the next song has started if you aren’t familiar with the songs. $20 entry ($30 or more on the weekend) and $20 park so consider that if deciding to go at night. All in all I like Pin Ups for dayshifts and nightshifts but it’s not what it use to be. PL fun can be had though so I recommend checking it out.
