I went to MY CLUB on a Friday night after midnight, technically very early Saturday morning. MY CLUB is an afterhours club without a liquor license. Patrons can bring their own beer: cans or bottles. Coolers and ice chests can be brought in as well. Nonalcoholic beverages and ice can be purchased at the bar. Eighteen, nineteen, and twenty year olds are allowed in. MY CLUB does not get popping until after the area bars close, which is 03:00 on weekends. There was a $20 cover charge to enter. You enter through the door on the side, not the door at the front of the building. I would classify the vibe as half strip club and half discoteca. Some people are there for the dancers while others are there just to continue partying with friends. There is a long bar on the left side of the room. In the middle of the room is a square island stage with one pole in the middle. There is a second stage against the back wall that was not used. The private dance area is a separate room in the back left of the floorplan. There are video slots along the back of the room.

I counted nine entertainers during my visit. All dancers were Hispanic with ages ranging from early twenties to mid-forties. Some didn't speak English well and were still wet from swimming the Rio Grande, while others probably had families that have been in the country for over a century and hardly knew any Spanish. Dancers took turns doing two song sets on stage. They choose their music at a DJ booth perched against the front wall. I didn’t get yelled at for touching the dancers while tipping them and was able to slide the dollars into their g-strings. Because the club does not have a liquor license, the ladies are allowed to get fully nude, but most dancers only seemed to get topless during their stage sets. I only found only two of the nine dancers attractive enough to pursue private dances with. The hottest of the bunch was a slim goth girl named Jinx. She was the Sally to my Jack Skellington. Topless private dances were $20. Nude private dances were $30. Private dances are full contact, but you are not going to bang.

The club is open seven days per week, opening at 22:00 nightly. It closes at 05:00 most nights, but stays open until 06:00 on Fridays and 07:00 on Saturdays. On Wednesday nights, the cover is only $5. On Thursday nights, they play throw back music from the 1980’s and 1990’s. The staff and patrons were very friendly. If you want to blend in, bring a case of Michelob Ultra. That seems to be the beer of choice in South Texas. I had a good time at MY CLUB and will be back on my next mission to Mission.
