La Esquina Lounge is an after hours club. They don't get busy until after 02:00 when the local bars close down. It will be empty if you come in early. They don't have a liquor license, so it is BYOB. You can bring in whatever you want: cans, glass bottles, hard alcohol. This place stays open until 08:00 in the morning or whenever the last customers leave. La Esquina Lounge is open seven days a week, and patrons only need to be eighteen to enter. There is a $20 cover charge, which can be paid by cash or Venmo.

There is an island stage with two poles in the middle of the room, but it wasn't used the whole time I was there. There is one very worn pool table on the left side. As you enter the door, there is a shrine to San Judas Tadeo (Jude the apostle) with tall glass candles glowing in front of the statue. Further along the right wall are three gambling machines, then a small bar. Sodas are $5, Powerade and juices are $5, buckets of ice (to keep your drinks cold) are $5, and energy drinks (Red Bull or Monster) are $8. There is a private back room for lap dances. The washroom has a homemade cement piss trough. The actual sit-down toilet was full of diarrhea and appeared out of order. There were televisions around the room playing videos of women sunbathing on the beach and models posing in bikinis.

There were six or seven dancers working. All were fat, old, or damaged by childbirth. I didn't encounter a single one that spoke English. All the music was Spanish. If you can't speak fluent Spanish, you will probably not like this place. I speak Spanish, so it wasn't more than a minor annoyance. Dancers quoted me $40 for private dances, which is a ripoff considering the lack of lookers here. They will come down to $30 or even $20 because there is not a lot of money circulating here. Dancers can get nude during private dances; there are no rules here. I wouldn't be surprised if you can get extras here. The club has some type of scam selling dancer drinks for $10. I shot some pool with a fifty year old crackwhore named Claris. She pulled out a plastic bag with cocaine and was snorting it right next to me. This was downright scary.
