Another good visit to Playhouse
Playhouse Lounge is located on Route 130 just outside Burlington, which is a moderately busy four-lane road. I’d advise caution when entering or leaving the parking lot because the southbound traffic sometimes moves at a pretty good clip. The club is in a garish pink building next to a car dealership.
Entry to the club costs $10 in the daytime, but that will get you two non-alcoholic drinks besides the entry. The club can be rather dark sometimes if entering on a sunny day. The main room is filled by a rectangular bar. The waitress will quickly take your order for water or soda or will put your byob on ice. But even more quickly the dancers will start hitting you up for tips. They may offer a brief barside grind to earn the tips, and take $1, 2 or 3 before moving on. Or, they may convince you to move immediately to a private room for dances. Dancers are predominantly Brazilian and vary in looks from 8 down to “just go away.” Generally, the dancers are not too high pressure when asking for dances, but they will be persistent, coming back to you several times before understanding your message of no interest.
On this visit I went to a room with a short brunette Brazilian. She was very aggressive with her dance and I had all I could handle in two dances. The dancer’s fee was $30/dance. She did not ask for a tip, but I felt that she earned one.
