Made the drive from Gainesville on a weeknight...

I found myself in Gainesville for a few days in early February, and Sins is easily my favorite club within a reasonable driving distance of where I was staying. So I decided to make the drive on a Wednesday evening, and see what kind of fun dances I might be able to find!

I posted a detailed club description in a prior review, so I don’t want to go too crazy repeating everything here. The club is located on Emerson St very close to I-95. Even with some construction work in the vicinity, I had no problems getting to the club, and I was there early enough to get one of the larger parking spaces right out front. The friendly outdoor attendant gave me a quick pat down, and inside I went. Cover is $13 after 7pm, and I put a few extra bucks in the tip jar for the door girl. You’re required to buy one drink, and I got a somewhat watered down soda for $6. On the plus side, the sodas do come with free refills, although I always tip an extra couple of bucks for every refill. A bottle of water is also $6, but no refills on those. :)

Sins is a medium size club, with a somewhat wide and narrow main room, and a single pool table on the far end. Near the pool table is a doorway that leads to the VIP area, the small men’s restroom, and the dressing room for the dancers. Dances are *supposed* to be $30 for nude dances in the cubicles that are pretty open, with two more private areas at the back of each row that are supposed to fetch $50 per song. The VIP attendant keeps track of the number of songs, I always pay the dancer after our songs are complete, and she pays a per song fee to the attendant on the way out. No silly VIP wristbands to worry about here, and no fee to the customer to enter the VIP area. A $5 tip will get the girl on stage naked for the rest of that song. I don’t think the stage lighting was quite as bright as the last time I was there, but maybe it was just me? Also, I never do this anyway, but the DJ will remind the crowd to NOT touch the ladies on the stage, and they seem to enforce that rule whenever someone tries it!
