Time to spare in search of the next flavor
I decided to try a Friday day shift and found a nearly empty parking lot. As I entered through the double doors, my eyes adjusted to the dim lighting. The bar stools had a few open spots, but the seating felt cramped overall. I settled at a table on the right, nestled between the bar and the stage, and took my time ordering a beer. The two-for-$9 special was hard to resist, especially with each beer priced at $7. While I waited, I scanned the crowd, which was mostly African American, with a smaller mix of white and other ethnicities, notably absent of any Cubans. After watching several dancers, I was underwhelmed; most were on the heavier side. The only appealing option was a familiar white girl, surprisingly without glasses, who had been around for a while. After a brief chat, she ordered a Hennessy and Coke for $19 and asked if I wanted a VIP session. I declined, having seen her enough times, and instead sought something new. After spending over an hour and $35, I decided to call it a day, planning to return another time in hopes of discovering a fresh experience.
