Still mongering after all these years

My club appearances are fewer than before, but if I have a chance I’ll sneak out to my old stomping grounds Centerfold, which is closer to my home.. I’ve been coming here for more than 30 years, and it is amazing this club stays open through the ups and downs of the economy, Detroit itself hitting rock bottom, and the challenges of running a strip club.

In many ways, it is truly a throwback strip club. It is basically unchanged in layout and decor over the years. The ladies here also seem like they were back in the day. Not old, but a blue collar, almost biker girl style that was my impression of the dancers 30 years ago.

Anyway, onto today’s notes: $2 cover around 5:00, parking lot fenced with a dude keeping an eye on things. Walking in you immediately smell weed, as the dancers are constantly toking in the outdoor area at the side of the club. You can join them outside, which is a good place to chat with them without blaring music. It’s my favorite spot in summer months. Beers are $8.
