Had an ok time, definitely visit after 9 PM.
On my mission to try every club in the Charlotte Metro area, I ventured down to Matthews to visit Tassels. Easy drive, but it gets a bit confusing, as you can see the building from the main road, but have to get off and traverse some back roads that aren't well lit before you actually pull up. The building is next to a drive thru burger joint, which may or may not be open at the same time. The club opens at 7, and I got there after 8 PM on a Saturday night.
When I walked in, the bartender/house mom scanned my ID, and I paid the $15 cover charge. Walking in, I realized even 8 PM is too early, as there was only one dancer and one other customer at the bar, which is right next to the door. I didn't buy any drinks as I was taking a break from alcohol and had waters in my car. The stage takes up the whole wall, with two poles and mirrors on the back. There is ample seating in the main area, I'd say at least 30-50 people could comfortably sit.
I sat down at a table and looked at my phone for a few minutes until the sole dancer walked over and introducer herself. We chatted for a minute before she asked if I'd like a private dance, to which I said yes, since there wasn't much else happening. Tassels is owned by a company that owns multiple clubs in town, which tend to have standard prices, so my 15 minutes was $150. Anything over 30 minutes includes champagne, according to the menus on the tables. We walked to the back area, which has a bigger champagne room type of VIP room, plus separate booths on the other side. Bathrooms are also here in the back.
