Inflation Hits a Mediocre Club
I was in Boston on business and didn’t have the time (or a rental car) to make the trip to Providence so I stopped in Centerfolds. In hindsight, I probably should have gone to a local pub.
The place is on an alley off of Chinatown but supposedly they are trying to move to a larger location around the corner if they can get zoning approval. It is one large room with the stage at the back as you walk in and a small bar (four or five seats) off to the right. I’ve been here before and the bouncer waived the cover which I believe is $20.
I took a seat at the bar and there were probably about 10 o the guys there and 5 or 6 girls. Girls due a 3 song set on stage and are fully nude for the third song. Frankly the quality of the girls was disappointing. There was only one I found remotely attractive (I like a natural GND type) so I caught her eye and she joined me at the bar. Dances are done in a separate room off to the left but I know there is zero mileage for a $20 air dance on the main floor so I didn’t even ask her about those. After the typical pleasantries, I asked her about upstairs where I had gone the last time I was there. She quoted me $600 to her for a hour plus a mandatory bottle which starts at $275. She also made it clear that this did not include tips for anyone and tips were expected. I get there’s inflation but I think this was $200 more than the last time I was there. I told her I really didn’t want to spend $1,000 and she said, “well those are the prices”. She was very hot but I know the mileage upstairs is good but there are no extras so I declined. I finished my $12 beer and headed back to my hotel. Adm, I was proud of myself that I made the rational decision here!
