Not worth the pomp and circumstance
Being my first time in NYC I wanted to check out some of the legendary Manhattan clubs. I walked into Rick's a little after 10pm on a Tuesday night. I had picked up a free entry card from outside of MSG so cover was waived.
I was immediately introduced to the concept of a "gentlemen's club" when a dressed up manager walked me into the main room and introduced me to two ladies at the bar. In retrospect that might have been because they asked if I had been here before and I confessed no, or they might have sized me up as a gullible target. Regardless, I spent the time drinking my first $20 drink standing at the bar talking to one of the girls and by the time I finished felt that she had earned a couple dances. $20, high quality lap dances with decent two way contact in the back/side corner of the main room.
I returned to the bar for my second drink and began to appreciate even more that there were absolutely no empty tables. I'm not sure if I was just there at a busy time or if you have to arrange a table with the host staff/manager, but a seat at the bar was the best I could manage. The room is an elongated rectangle with the main stage on the far left, what looked like VIP seating in front of and around that, the bar in what I'll call the front wall, lap dances and more VIP in the right side, and small tables along with two poles in the middle of the whole room. Sitting at the bar felt very far away from the main stage, albeit fairly close to where other girls had gathered around the two poles. There were a lot of girls there that night, with a variety in looks and almost all very attractive.
