Dead during the week at lunch
This is a weekday, lunch hour review. I am sure that at night and on the weekends this place is bustling. It's pretty big. But during the week, if you go at noon, there's nothing happening at all.
I don't get downtown often, but I was out on an errand and had an hour to kill. I wanted to see how the clubs were in the flats. This is the main bar and nightclub area of Cleveland, has been for years, not far from downtown right on the Cuyahoga. Hustler Club is right across the street. That already is a nice plus, you have two big clubs literally steps away from each other. I didn't have much time, so I just picked Diamond.
You go in and right away there's a cover. Girl is working at a ticket booth window and you pay your ten bucks and get in. This entrance hall where you pay is right inside the main doors, and you can't see anything from there. After she takes your money she tells you to go ahead, and then you step in another set of doors and see how big it is.
The place is pretty large. There's a side bar with like 15-20 seats, several stages right ahead and the lighting looks cool. But, again, this is lunchtime. The stage areas were empty. It was like a tomb. No dancers, no patrons. There were two dancers sitting at the side bar. I did not think either were very attractive.
I went and had a drink and the bartender, she was friendly. I asked her if they had any dances and she said that it's slow now because it's the lunch hour but if I came at night there's a lot going on.
