Disappointing Stopover

Was driving through Huntsville last Friday and decided to stop in the Pony at 7:50pm (stayed until 11:30pm). Cover was $11 but I didn’t have to pay as I was wearing the club t-shirt. Disappointed to find that my favorite bartender, Ashley, no longer works there. It was during shift change for the bar/wait staff so it took a little while to get service. Beers and malt liquor are still $5 til 9pm, $7 after. There was a sign indicating a 4% service charge will be added for non-cash sales, which is new to me. Club layout and decor haven’t changed since I made the update review last year.

Club was very slow when I arrived, with only 6 customers and 6 dancers listed on the queue screen near the DJ booth. They had one dancer on stage doing 2 songs set, and often a song with the stage empty between sets. All the dancers were too thick for my taste. By 9pm, there were about 15 customers and 12 dancers. Of the new ones that arrived, there was 1 dancer that was a young spinner type that I like. Showtime (all dancers on stage, selling 2 for $50 couch dances - regular couch dances still $30) came at 9:50pm with 14 dancers. 2nd Showtime at 11pm, and there were 17 dancers by then and none of the new girls were my type. Most of the 17 were white with 3 black dancers. Did not get any dances. Sat at the bar, had a few beers, and watched the college football playoff game. They began to have 2 dancers on stage after the 11pm Showtime. By the time I left there were around 25-30 customers in the club and did not seem to be picking up much, probably due to being the weekend before Christmas.
