This is among New Orleans's better clubs, perhaps number two to Barely Legal. The girls here are very hot, and the amenities and the service make Penthouse among the decent clubs to go to in the French Quarter. It's a pity they're off of Bourbon Street (but only by two or three doorways down Iberville toward Royal), I'm sure that is a major difficulty for them, since all the other non-Bourbon clubs have a serious sleaze-factor and look to be clip joints (those pits are all another block or two down toward the river, at Iberville and Chartres). Penthouse offers upper-tier girls, though I have to admit that it's hit-or-miss depending on the night. The drinks are marginally less than at the Hustler clubs along Bourbon; the girls are marginally less, too. The management here is, I think, the most attentive, and I suspect that girls would prefer to work here because of the regimented, carefully organized atmosphere. But what girls prefer isn't always what customers prefer, and the level of contact available in a lapper is still rather tame compared to, for example, Tampa or Houston. Penthouse has what I've found (so far) to be the best upstairs deals, the most time per money, of all the FQ clubs, so if you DO find a dancer who seems up for a better amount of contact and you're insistent on having private "champagne" time with her, then this would be the club to do it in. Lots of mirrors, good cigar selection, it's really the only "true" upscale club in the city (though Rick's does a good job competing, the women at Rick's aren't up to par all the time and the contact is nearly zero, IME). I rate Penthouse a solid 6.5 or 7 according to national standards, an 8 by New Orleans standards.
