Can’t Start a Fire Without a Spark

Was outside of Pittsburgh for work and decided to make this a first time visit. Unfortunately, likely a last time visit, too.

Arrived just before 9:00 on a recent Wednesday. There’s a small parking lot out front but if privacy is a concern is on the main throughway of McKeesport. Walked inside and there was no cover or doorman. Sat at the bar and cute, tall, very slender in a barely covering bikini bartender came over right away - but to ask for $5 cover and ID. No scan, but my God, she studied that ID like it was a question on an LSAT (I’m in my mid-40’s). She claimed it was to look to make sure the expiration date was valid. Who knows…

Eventually ordered a beer. Domestics were on special for Happy Hour until 9 - just made the cut. $2.75 - and yes, she actually gave me a quarter back, but I gave her a second $5 and just told her to keep it. Beer was so cold it was half beer half slushy - not a terrible thing when you’re drinking a shitty light beer.
