Another One Scratched Off the List...

I was recently working on the west side of Phoenix when I realized there was a nearby club I'd never been to. I was actually itching to knock back a few drinks at HiLiter or Bandaids, but those were too far away for the time available to me. Seeing as I've been to almost all the clubs in town over the last 7 years or so, I decided to scratch another off the list and see what Coyote Cabaret is all about.

I wasn't expecting much walking in as I was just off at my lunch break and extremely bored. The club is a small hole-in-the-wall style establishment along the lines of Chicas Cabaret (been a few years since I dropped in on that joint but it was a small space is my point). When I entered around 10:30pm there was no cover- according to the signage, apparently they never charge any. There is one large pool hall-style room with bathrooms in the back left corner and private dance rooms on the right as you enter. They run drink specials apparently every day of the week except for Wednesday which is when I was there- it's fine since I couldn't get smashed before returning to work anyway, so I got a Jack and Coke for 10 bucks.

I was immediately greeted at the bar by one of the many Cuban dancers on shift- they make up the whole lineup here apparently, as I didn't met a single non-Spanish speaker (most had *some* English too). Unfortunately, she was older and not very pretty at all- definitely not what I look for in the club. Indeed, there were more than a couple of dancers there who couldn't have sold me on even a half-priced dance; and I'm normally pretty open minded on exploratory visits like this one. That said, I felt all the girls had a good attitude and a fairly high level of energy, given the establisment; everybody was shaking and baking up on that pole. Also, there were still a couple of smokeshows on the dancer roster who I would rate as 7 and up- overall the lineup was not bad for this kind of place.
