Devon Revisited
3500+ reviews, so we all know the layout. Besides, I’m getting tired of finding new ways to describe how shockingly pink the building is. It’s BYOB, and the $10 door fee gets you one or two bottles of water. I have yet to get a bottle where the seal is intact, so buyer beware. I did try a soda once, and it was flat and watered down. There is sometimes a menu posted by the DJ booth, but I have never stayed long enough to sample those wares. Michelin is never going to review the kitchen here.
We all know why we’re here, so let’s talk about the womenfolk. Most of the staff has been there seemingly forever. Day shift is an unmixed bag of older Brazilians and the occasional Eastern European woman. Most, if not all speak passable English. In the dim light of the place they’re all passable. You ain’t gonna find nines or tens here, but the sixes and sevens are reasonable at the price point. When I was there it was the usual cast of characters, all well reviewed here. Cayenne was walking around in some sort of ninja outfit. Her face was completely covered and the thing showed off her hard earned curves. There was some tall brunette - like 5’10” tall before the heels - I hadn’t seen before and whose name I did not catch. She said she had just returned after a hiatus. Okay, she didn’t use the word “hiatus.”
But I was there on a mission. When I settled in at the bar Maria asked what she could bring me. “A bottle of water and Devon,” I said. Ah Devon, a big time favorite of many here. After my last visit when I finally had a chance to spend time with her, I understood why. After a brief wait (Pro Tip: The tip walk here is like sharks smelling blood in the water. Just hand the dollar over and tell them you’re waiting for someone else and it lightens up.) she found her way to me.
