Hit and miss, but mostly pretty good. Solid choice for the food.
I've been to Acrop dozens of times over a dozen years. It's hit and miss, but you always can find something you like. Occasionally, you can find something you like a LOT.
It's a dive bar. It's Portland. It's expected. What you should expect when you walk in: It's a little dirty, the seats are kind of worn and broken down, and everything is a little off. The music is a little too loud and it is an odd mix, depending on which dancer is selecting the music. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's Def Leppard. I appreciate the classics, but come on. Overplayed.
There are usually three stages in operation. They used to have four, and they'd only open the fourth stage on busy nights. They stopped doing this years back, when business began to drop off. Still, having three stages simultaneously operational is great. You always have three dancers to choose from. The only thing I'd say about this is that I'd appreciate being able to actually see the dancers. It's quite dark on a couple of the stages. Compare this to the front stage at Union Jacks, were you are two feet away from the dancer and she is relatively well lit up.
